Ready, So Ready

Seeping sincerity from full, beryl veins.

Asphyxiated by flesh surfaces, a pair of tan planes.

Serving as a slope for liquid crimson to cascade

As moistened eyes watch the dysphoria of day

Flee and find solace in depths 'neath the drain.

Pooling anguish discovers a snug crease

In a valley of burden, saline rainfall cannot cease.

The Falls stream past mountains and hungrily beseech

To be given a purpose for which to preach,

As the crystalline basin seems far beyond reach.

Quivering chest plunges into a cove

Free of ruins, just quietude that no one knows.

How compliance with silence over sound can show

Life's a battlefield-timed bombs relentlessly thrown.

I'm ready, so ready to retire this home.
