Real.

Location

I fell in love with this pastime,

Now it’s my rhythm and it’s my blues.

It became what keeps me going,

It became my most heavenly muse.

It is said the ones who truly care about you,

Will always encourage you to be true to yourself.

But that just sounds so wrong to me,

The ones I love have always told me I’m better at being someone else.

I know they don’t say this just to hurt me though,

These people are my cast and a family composed of friends.

They are what inspire me,

They are where this process starts and ends.

Once I found a home in the people,

I opened up to the art.

But how could I have any idea

That this is where my whole life would start?

Now I spend hours, days, weeks, and months,

standing on a stage.

Theatre became my passion,

I turned to a new page.

Theatre makes you different

And there’s something unexplainable about what acting does to your brain,

You grow colder and warmer at the same time, more open to life,

More open to feel the happiness and the pain.

They say actors are tortured souls,

Maybe this is true.

We are cursed to act and live a life of a million emotions each day,

Most are ones I never thought I knew.

It’s hard to say, exactly,

How theatre makes me feel.

But if I could pin it in one word, I think it would be this:

Real.
