By dictionary definition, a teenage is someone between the age of 13 and 19,

But that's not what it really what it means to be one.

Being a teenage means having everyone turning to you for help,

When you can barely help yourself.

Crying while no one is watching,

Living with constant stress and sadness,

Terrified of being judged,

And trying to impress everyone but yourself.

Being a teenager means hating High School.

Hating waking up early,

Hating to deal with teachers,

Hating to deal with students,

Hating to have multiple sleepless nights because of homework,

Hating to have some plate but you carry on anyways.

Being a teenager means falling in love.

Falling stupidly for the wrong one,

Falling fast for someone who doesn't feel the same,

Falling slowly for someone who really cares.

Making hasty decisions for who you like,

Because you're scared of rejection.

Being a teenager means told you're not ready.

You're not ready to live on your own,

You're not ready for a boyfriend,

You're not ready to go out on your own,

You're not ready to be treated like an adult.

Teenagers are complicated human beings,

To be blamed for by our hormones.

Being a teenagers means improving,

Learning from our mistakes,

Using all that we have learned to better ourselves,

And loving ourselves,

When no one else wil.
