Real Dreams
Their voices cloud my mind
Circling and trapping
My free thoughts,
Dripping poison into them
Drowning them into extinction
Falling and dying -
No, stop
Stop the infectious voices
Erase them,
Forget them,
Leave them long behind you
As you run ahead,
Chasing the only truth you know,
The only thing that felt,
More real than the hands in front of you,
Use those hands
And pull your dreams into reality
For this isn’t the end,
It has just begun
The first steps into a new world
In hopes of escaping the
Chains of unsatisfaction,
The anchor of unhappiness
To those years of frustration,
Years of not recognizing any face
In hallways of hundreds,
Not even the one that stares coldly
In a faded reflection,
Save yourself!
With every pen stroke,
And flooded emotions,
I’ll let my dreams raise me,
The ones that linger, haunting me
That create themselves in the long, lonely nights,
Come to be in the nighttime,
That vanish as the sun rises
Because of the fear of unleashing them to the cold world
To rip the words on the paper,
Squashed in a tower of notebooks
That know every detail of my twisted mind,
And the pain that powers my heart,
It is time to wake them
To meet the world
And face the voices,
So the nights of dreams
Turn into nights of hard work
And creativity explores,
There is no fear in the sun’s eye,
As I know now it is a friend,
It will save me,
For my words will flow
In the fresh morning wind,
Travel alongside the strong winged birds,
For I will use the the pain from years,
And the strength and hard skin it created,
To thrown my written words through the open window,
As the door closes behind me,
For it is time,
Time long over do,
To bring to life what laid still for so long,
It is time,
Time to bring these words to reality,
Not only to reality,
But to society,
To change,
To form,
To add,
For these words and thoughts grow inside of me everyday
And can no longer be held trapped,
In the endless abyss of my mind,
But travel through my fingertips,
And spill from my lips,
Read my words,
Hear my words,
Feel my words,
And live the true dream.
