Real Life

As I sit here
Staring at the screen
I realize
That only I can make the choices for myself.
Not my mother. Not my father.
Not anyone else.

Somedays I just want to say
Everybody please go away
Only for a moment though
And deep inside they would know

I miss the way things used to be...
