Real Life Angel

You was my real life angel, And no one could take that from me

Except for you God, so why’d you take that from me?

I know that everything you do has got a plan, but I’ve just been trying and trying my hardest to understand it

But I don’t,

Something so precious in somebody’s life, even when illness took a swing, she always stayed to fight

She never let it get the best of her, she said “alright”

And took a swing right back, even the odds to be alright

And it’s dreadful, thinking ‘bout every moment took for granted, I would do anything to bring you right back on this planet

But I guess God already had a plan so he just planned it, can’t argue with the man upstairs that’s really hard headed

And I just turned 20 today, I really wish you were here to see it, I know you’d be amazed

You’d smile and laugh and say “I can’t believe how much you’ve grown, just to think just yesterday I remember you being born”

And time moves fast, I’ll admit it, hadn’t seen you in a minute

Too busy tryna live my life to find the light ‘cause I was stuck in the shade, searching for answers for days

Every so often I’d pray, keep praying for better days

Remember that one room, my mother sister and I were all sleeping in one room

But it was special cause you took all of us in

We had no place to go and dad was always arguing with mom I swear you told her so

And I hate to admit it, I should’ve spent more time with you when I know you was living

And I regret that, wasn’t even there when you passed, I guess I’ll just accept that

But it’ll haunt me forever, the memory of you lives on through me from now and forever

I’ll never forget everything you did ‘cause you made me better

I love you.

And even when I was down, you always told me don’t frown, you were always there to lift me up when I hit the ground, I’ll never forget everything you did for me when you were around
