A Real Love Story
Because I loved you
I got down on one knee.
Because I loved you
"yes" I screamed.
Because I loved you
I said "I do".
Because I loved you
I did too.
Because I loved you
I planted a kiss.
Because I loved you
I felt pure bliss.
Because I loved you
I gave you my heart,
something no one could outbid.
Because I loved you
I sacrificed my body
and bore three kids.
Because I love you
I work real late.
Because I love you
I'll stay up and wait.
Because I love you
I let you see me
when I am not strong.
Because I love you
I'll be here to hold you
when things go wrong.
Because I love you
I'll do what I can
to finish your list.
Because I love you
I'll give you some time,
and try not to persist.
Because I love you
I'll think about the years
we spent together.
Because I love you
I will too and know
they couldn't have been better.
But I know there are still many more to come.
Because I still love you.
And I do too.
