The Real Me

At the end of each day, after I wash away

The facade I put on for the world

I see my true self looking back at me in the mirror

She is kind and shy

She is one who truely cares about others

One who would never try to harm other people

No matter what they have done to her

She is a lover, not a fighter

This true image of myself cares too much about everything around her

She feels the pain of everyone

Yet, nobody can feel her pain

For her pain is hidden away for the benefit of others

So that nobody will worry about her

The true version of myself obsesses about anything and everything

Whether it be a book or television show

She lets no one know of this

Because she fears what others will think

The real me really just cares

She cares for everyone and everything

She cares for the deforestation in Madagascar

She cares for the starving people of the world

She cares about the Global Climate Change

She cares for you
