The Real Me

My life’s a hidden secret

My thoughts thoroughly protected

My personality a puzzle

My worries and hopes intertwined and connected

No one knows or cares

No one knows what I can be

No one seems to understand

No one, not even me

I want to show you

everything I can feel.

I want to show you the hidden me,

wipe away the fake personalities you think are real.

I’m just a boy

who barely fits in.

I’m just a boy

who never seems to win.

I can be brave,

or sometimes smart,

I can be charming,

yet I can seal away my heart.

But this no one will ever know

no one will get the key to see.

I shall never let anyone in,

to see the unfiltered me.
