The Real Me

My eyes at times appear dark and empty,

My face pale and full of blank expression,

My mind, however, full of thoughts a plenty,

My heart yearns to love and feel affection.

These people care not about how I feel,

They do not want to look deeper within,

They judge me on how I look and appear,

I want them to see me for what is in.

Through pictures they do not see passionate,

Their idea of me won't be defective-

I am caring kind and compassionate,

If knowing me will change the perspective.

Without my filter I'm admirable

The real me will always be acceptable.
