The Real Me

My head is full of curls,

just like my world can be a whirl

there's so much left to unfurl

so I must overcome the perils.

I can't be who they want me to be

all I want is for them to see the real me.

Like water without going through a filter,

my life has no kilter.

But for those who see the qualities in me,

they will know that I have humility

and the ability to improve humanity.
