The Real Me

I look in the mirror

And what do I see?

I see me...

But it's a me that's not truly who I'm meant to be

I see a girl

With fake blonde hair, makeup caked on, and the most popular brand of clothes

This is the me everyone knows

But little do they know the real me.

I go to school pretending to be someone I'm not

Keeping to myself and keeping my own thoughts.

This isn't me.

This isn't me God intended me to be.

The me that wakes up with nappy hair

Waking up with no makeup

My face only bare.

And especially not with the clothes everyone else wears.

That's the me that everyone should be aware.

The me that laughs to no end

Who tries to be everyone's friend

The girl that doesn't care what everyone else thinks.

Those are the traits that make me, me.
