The Real Me

People say they see me as who I AM

When in reality that is just a mask

That mask has been worn for many years

Now it is to make it clear

Who I am is not who you see

It is the person that hides in the shadows

The shadows are the friends of some but not many

Who I am is the person who wants a second chance

A second chance at happiness

A second chance at love

For now I have myself, my mask and the shadows
