The Real in the Relationship

In our generation, we only care

If  the relationship looks "good" for the gram

"Wait let's show off on Snapchat" 

And let me tweet that your meeting my fam

But no one questions  the behind the scenes

Is that healthy to you and me?

Healthy is listening and understanding

Not lying or cheating

But motivating and supporting

Not yelling and beating

It's about feeling the love

Not just saying it

About communication with each other

And not trying to quit

But when the relationship falls apart

and the abuse starts

take a step back

and find yourself help

"Because I love you" is no excuse

For the name calling

"Because I love you" does not

heal the bruises

"Because I love you" does not 

Erase away all the mental and physical pain

"Because I love you" is nothing, if there is no true meaning behind it 

It should mean

"Because I love you" I wouldn't keep you in confinement 

"Because I love you" I'll keep you motivated

"Because I love you" I'd stick up for you 

"Because I love you" I'd listen and comfort you

I'd do it all for you

"Because I love you"
