Reality
You should know I wish to make the world better in time
Before you step into the muddy, murky, infested with doubts waters of my mind
Everybody knows reality according to what they show us
We all see the truth advertised from afar but nobody wants to get close up
Everybody talks about what reality is ,but don't want to change it
The truth was crystal clear at first, but now it's become tainted by what's
On tv, the only thing they show is the bad sides of humanity
It's easy to see the badside of ourselves, we have a knick for that ,the good side that they trap, is harder to see
What's the real reason, a man get's pulled over , is it because his background, ethnicity, or even his sexuality
I'm black and I'm not dumb, neither am I in a gang, and drugs is something I don't have
I have more power in my mind, then a nine milimeter could ever hope to have
Power doesn't belong to a specific race, a group of men, or even the rich
It lies and stays with the man, who determination, smarts, and hardwork sticks with, even though he drinks gallons of problems a day, never a sip
His Titanic crosses besides and sometimes hit the iceberg and sees the whole thing not just the tip
They don't want me to speak the truth, so I'm writing it
The reality is all too often we're stereotyped and judged by appearance
Look at a bunch of wild animals fight, then look at a boy sagging his pants and tell me if you see a difference
We out here killing each other, verbally and physically when truth is, we need one another to survive
We were let go as slaves long ago, now excuses are the chains that we are bound by , with master fear not letting us thrive
All eyes are on us waiting to see what will happen, when reality is if we do nothing , everything remains the same
We need to be the forgers of our fate, and with the hammer of hope make change
We will make a difference, see things others couldn't see, be what they didn't have a chance to be, we use the currency of good to make change
No longer will we be the problem but of peace will we be the key
And that is reality
