Reality

I wish I was older

If I was older, I would be able to drive around wherever I wanted to with my friends.

I would have lots and lots of money to go on shopping sprees with no ends.

Bedtimes would disappear, I could stay up until two in the morning.

Do fun, dangerous things with no one to give me a warning.

I'd never have to worry about not being old enough.

I could work because I'd be much more tough.

I'd have all the freedom I could ask for.

No authority over me anymore.

Reality is different.

I have to work all day and night.

So much stress my hair is now white.

Living paycheck by paycheck, barely can eat.

I can't even run around anymore; my back is all beat.

Even if I could, I don't have the time; I have so much to do.

I remember when I was happy all the time, but now I'm always blue.

I want to see my friends but they're always so busy with their work and kids.

If I was younger, I would be able to sleep again; now I can barely close my eyelids.

I wish I was younger
