Reality

You opened my eyes to a new kind of world

One where entire galaxies swirled

You threw the curtains open wide

And smiled at me from the side

Gesturing to each possibility in turn

I grew to love them, not to spurn

Your eyes sparkled and I knew

That you would carry me, and I would carry

you

But that moment didn’t last

What once was is now past

You turned away…

And for the visions, a price to pay

For knowing what could have been

And what simply

Is.
