Reality

"Get into reality,"

She said,

"Have real expectations."

"But reality never did anything for me,"

I pled,

"It's given me nothing but patience."

That felt like our first real fight,

                                          that night,

As I begged and asked for forgiveness.

But she doesn't know how reality can hurt,

Which is all it does,

Giving it no worth.

Reality didn't make her best friend leave her,

for the person they both liked.

Reality didn't make her feel like her friends hated her guts,

Only talking about things they did every night without her,

Giving her the worst 2 weeks of her life.

Reality didn't kick her,

From the one race she thought she could win.

Reality didn't reject her,

Toss her into the trash bin.

Didn't make her cry herself to sleep each night,

Knowing the next day she'd go through a hell called "friends."

Saying they "love you" but forgetting to show it.

Reality doens't make her best friend who left her,

Flirt with the one she still loves.

But hiding and lying,

Worried if she lets it out,

The pain of that love will reset in truth.

Who is she to tell me to live in reality,

When she hasn't seen the tip of it.

Reality made me who I am.

From the kind soul,

To the self destruction,

And daily dose of deprivation.

Reality hurts.

Reality hates.

I know Reality.

I know Pain.

Don't tell me to be realistic,

Because my optimism is the only thing keeping me from crying,

Every time I sit by myself at our group parties.

From starting a fight,

With the one who left me for his hopeless crush.

From quitting all races ever again.

From torching the momories of my 2 weeks of hell,

As the few people I thought loved me,

Left me out and did stuff every night, without me.

From admitting to the hopeless love I have,

That I tell everyone I gave up.

Don't give me Reality.

Please, I've had enough.
