The Reality of Life
Through the storms, daddy went out in the rain. I felt ashamed, but I did not see daddy’s pain.
I questioned why my life had to turn out this way, it felt like a nightmare and I only wanted it to go away.
I would close my eyes and fantasize of a life that is not mine.
I came to realize that I was only living a lie.
When it rained, daddy stumbled through the muddy puddles.
Daddy was feeling muddled because he couldn’t pay the bills on time, so expenses would double.
I was searching for the missing piece to this puzzle, when it was right in front of me.
I fell under the impression of perfection, which drew me into a mental obsession.
I had no discretion of my life’s direction.
I took a closer look at my reflection, which taught me a lesson.
This life is filled with obstacles and some things in life are not optional, but nothing in this world is impossible.
I had to set my mind free in order to succeed.
I grew up mentally when I gave meaning to every feeling in me that felt unappealing.
