Realization

Because I loved you, I let you let go.

Because I loved you, you asked me if I was upset and I said no.

Deep down my heart ached to be able feel your chest in your embrace again,

to feel your lips against mine.

You told me there was a girl that caught your eye.

You said you had a chance to fall in love again, but not with me.

Oh how I wish that somehow meant you never stopped loving me.

Overthinking that maybe there was another chance for us to be one again.

But if you were meant for me, we would have made it till the end.

And then it all clicked.

It wasn't you.
