Realize
I sit in class and wonder where I will sit this time in five years. Will I still be sitting here? Will I have moved forward? Will the past be forever my present? It's difficult to think of what will come. It's difficult to walk through life with a blind eye and a hand tied behind your back. It's difficult not to question whether your struggles will overcome you, or you will overcome your struggles. A wise baboon once said, "Yes, the past can hurt. But you can either run from it, or learn from it." The simplicity in that statement always brings such a calm over me. I'm amazed at how easily true that can be. Yet, I know how easily it can not. Life is not a simple line from a movie or quote from a book. It is an ever changing, ever challenging, ever gratifying, unpausable moving ball of heart wrenching and soul searching moments that make up who we are as people. It is easily given and easily taken each and every day. It is our choices and decisions. It is our actions and regrets. It is out achievements. Our successes. Our failures. Our mistakes. Our fears. Our strengths. Our loves. Our stories. Our lives. Ours. Mine. I sit in class and wonder when others will realize it's all worth it.
