Living up to preset accomplishments Paving the way for the future generations to come Rewriting history in memory of past ancestors Taking responsibilities when the time comes Changing the way we function in this world Working together towards one goal Making a difference in our community With no rewards to uphold Walking in the footsteps of a dream Realizing the dream was more of a goal Becuase dreams are just thoughts created No telling how they may unfold Taking a righteous path to achieve greatness In search of a better day All this violence, killing, and crime should be put to an end Positive, there is a better way Gifted with so many talents But we are recognized by all our flaws Put down because of our color Held back by so many laws The dream is of unity Confident that there will be a better day Let us realize that we are all the dream Or we will become the nightmare
