To Really Change You have to Know

Throughout my years,

Something I've come to know

Is that there are a lot of things that need changing.

And if given the chance to change one thing,

To say "change all that's bad into good"

Would be cheating.

Even though it is one wish,

Not just one thing would morph.

So such a wish wouldn't be possible

By the rules that have been set.

So you ask me, "What's the one thing I would change?"

I thought long and hard and I know now.

The one thing that's the same,

That you'd find anywhere.

No matter the good or bad.

Where there is suffering,

Where there is pain,

There is someone who hurts alone.

So if I can't fix everything with just one wish,

Then let me at least fix this.

No one should have to suffer alone.

I know the pain,

I know the hurt.

I know that I wanted someone to wish this for me.

So I'm wishing it now because I am free

And I want all of the others to be.
