Really now

Psalm 30:6 New English Translation (NET Bible)

In my self-confidence I said,
“I will never be shaken.”

Really now

Now and then what’s the use?

How to remember everything?

Write it down as a lost recluse

Who wants to do that silly thing?

Remember when your ways were set?

As you now notice after years gone-by

It is so strange being caught in a net

That was set by self-feeling high and dry

You share your heart in what you write.

So someone may quickly crumble it up.

You don’t care as you’re being out of sight

Only a few drink out of your empty cup

Surely it does not mean a lot today

or one cares about what you think.

The issue deep inside remains unpaid

Who you are now is shown in ink.
