The Reason
Manipulating a pen and some loose leaf
Is much easier than standing at your door step,
trying to negotiate with my vocal chords.
It would only take seconds to get me right where you want me.
See, a pen is in place of my backbone
and paper is the courage i need
to convey my thoughts.
Without these tools,
My sanity would be compromised.
My coping mechanisms have been altered;
Scars decorate my body.
I swear i was trying to paint an elaborate picture of
self loathing and worthlessness -
I wanted you to understand.
Without writing,
I found myself at the George Washington Bridge,
Asking myself if I had what it takes.
If you are wondering,
Here's what I found :
I do have what it takes.
To be heard and not just seen
I refuse to be silenced.
I am more than a face
and if what i write does not shake you to the very core,
then I have no use for you.
I don't wish to make a difference in the bigger spectrum of life,
But if my words can touch someones lonely soul,
Then that's all the difference that matters.
