From fingers wrapping around

Confortable silence, content to just sit

Pieces of cake saved for the other
After a birthday party
Sometimes it's the best present
Little slices say a lot

Words warm the air
Heated against salty tears
The next day brings a handmade card

Hands clasped in the car
Out of tune singing peppered with laughter
No chocolates needed
