The Reason Why

I sit here all alone

Wondering why my mind races

All I see are images from the past

The things you did to me are not ok

You hurt me beyond repair

There is no love only pain

I see myself breaking

The cracks become canyons

My body shakes with fear

Once the images pass I am left a mess

I can no longer move

I am numb

Then the anger blissfully comes

Revenge takes the place of pain

Victim I am no longer

Stop wondering why I shy from love

Why I cannot trust

How I can push you away

I am a worrior

Strong and fierce

I will rely on no one

Not again

I will stand alone

And face my demons
