I had many reasons why I loved you

The reasons were as clear as water and as pure as snow

Your love surrounded me always

Penetrable through the mightiest fortress and the thinnest wall

Your smile was the sunrise

Breaking the looming darkness with your inner light

Your voice built unfathomable strength

For me and the people you touch with your kindness

Everything you gave me was a gift

It felt as if my knight in shining armor had finally arrived

I couldn't fathom a life without you

Over time pieces of my heart decayed

I felt no love

No connection

Your love was a mirage

A deadweight

The man I met and loved is a complete stranger to me now

My heart yearns for the past,

But the past is dead

And my love for him is dead

Throughout the abuse and alchol,

I tried to make him happy

Time after time I tried,

But all I received was pain and hate

Because "I love you" was over used
