Reawakened

Who are you to want to be somebody?

Society pierced in my mind

Who are you to have goals?

By this time I had gone blind

Blind to the actions that changed my entire world

Now I'm just a weakened young girl

Trying to figure out what to do with my life

Crying and fighting with all my might

How could you break my heart and leave me in this alone?

Didn't even have the deceny to pick up the phone

I blamed you for this because you left

Played me like a fool as I wept

You were my shoulder when I needed to cry

Now here you are ready to fly

What am I to do as you shatter in my eyes

Pick up the pieces or fall victim to lies

How am I to know you were my guide

The only one ever to stick by my side

I begged you not to go, but you said it's my time

You got this baby girl no need to whine

I hate you for making me feel like this

You made me feel vunerable and weaken my fist

Crying out to you to protect me from hurt

As you wiped away my tears with your nice shirt

I held on tight and even though I put up a good fight

You had to leave, it was a must

If only I'd knew it would've been less of a fuss

For a while I didn't understand what you meant by love

All I knew is that you fit me like a glove

It took me a while to adjust to my new mind

All that I could feel was the glow of my new shine

The happiness of my laughs and the joys in my cries

I no longer needed you to soar my skies

Thank you friend for all that you have done

Now I see you glistening in the light of the sun

Kisses to you, It was a pleasure to know you

On to the next part that life has to give

Thanks for being there when I needed to live

This new feeling I have is amazing and well

Even with the moon my heart begins to swell

Thanks for being everything I needed when I fell
