Rebirth

Things seemed to have changed since that time long ago,

That time where the world was distant and mute,

When quietly I lay rest in my burrow

Dreaming peacefully buried under root.

The cold dark earth had enclosed around me,

Existence seemed to stretch down in that pit.

Seasons chill kept me buried constantly

Until springs nurturing warmth did emit.

The flowers sweet bloom coaxed me from slumber

And woke me from my lonely confinement.

I had crawled through sludge to break through dark cover

And was greeted by pure enlightenment.

Reborn into a whole new dimension,

Those memories pale upon ascension.
