Rebirth

Perception was completely distorted

Painful emotions, negative feelings contorted

Till they fit into the pit of my soul.

Ignored, but never forgotten

Couldn't decompose, yet turned rotten

Hazardous Sludge hardened over my heart, fear quickly gained control.

Years I hid in the shadow of life,

Too scared to grow

Too scared to thrive

The Sludge didn't permit me to feel alive, I sank deeper into the pain I knew.

I wanted to run

I refused to cry

I refused to feel

I wanted to die

Then a crack in the Sludge broke through.

My heart had longed to feel it,

Bathe in the warmth as it cleanses my Spirit

Creating a space for a seed of light to flourish

Composed of a new substance, not ment to harm but to nourish.

From this seed began my start

A surge of energy resurrected my heart.

Love and purpose are my guides

If pain is growth then fear subsides

Seeing reality with bright new eyes,

For this gift I am forever grateful.
