Reborn Anew

She revisits old feelings for the same reason

We reread books -

Comfort is words familiar

Even though we

Know the endings.

When she is recovering from difficult things such as

Heartbreaks or any traumatic experience,

She stops trying to find her old self.

Her old self-doesn’t exist anymore,

She looks for the new and improved version

Of herself.

Her old self-led her to turmoil and henceforth had

To die off, this is her new evolution.

She is the kind of person who

Asks deep questions,

She sees into the heart of

People, and

Watches the moon at night.

She is an old soul

Living in the 21st century.

So I think

Maybe my soul is old

Looking for a love that no longer exists

Maybe my heart is old

Born to endure so much pain

I believe that her soul

And my soul

Are very old friends.

She forgets that she is young

Which is strange to think about

Because she often wonders how she’d feel

When the mirror tells her the truth for once

So, she closes her eyes to old ends

And opens her heart

To new beginnings.
