Recalling Rollin

Dear Rollin,

Would it be cliché to say

That I miss you?

26 years is too small a number.

Family, extended and nuclear,

A brother who is half

Of an uncompleted whole,

A sister who doesn’t

Understand.

Parents who see you every time they

Close their eyes

Is all that remains.

I wish we had talked more.

That we had gotten to know each other better.

It’s funny how we think there

Is time,

Time to dwindle and waste

Never to regain.

I wish I knew why.

But, I may never know why.

 What I do know is

That I miss you.
