Recess

Remembering...

Ghostly figures of days long gone.

Memories flooding in

drowning out the sound of my

tears.

Tender feet on cold rocks,

long unaccustomed to

childish fancies,

chalk dust,

swings,

first love...

Adventurous times full

of laughing children,

catty witches,

and the sort of friendship

never found again.

The best days,

the worst days,

all experienced

in a field of dreams.
