Recess

Recess

All us little rascals venture into the open,

And as the sun shineth on our tiny heads,

We look around at all the children who standeth by our sides,

With curiosity we look up and down at one another,

And with anxiety rising in your tummy,

You quickly tag a tiny little rascal and run,

And hence the game has begun.

As the game progresses,

With children laughing and running,

Children falling and crying,

Children getting up and smiling,

All one by one were touched,

By what you have started,

Each one tagging one another,

Each one spreading what you have started.

As the fun of the game spreads,

Time has began to quickly fly by,

And suddenly the game has come to a hault,

As the bell begins to ring,

All the children head their separate ways,

Touched by the joy you have given them,

But the fun has ended,

the game is no more,

We all wave good bye,

To our new friend we have just made,

We whimper and even pout,

But all fun things must come to an end,

For we are all bound by time,

Until next time my friend,

When the bell will ring again,

Good bye my dear friend.
