A Recipe For Depression
TAKE A PERSON
A BEING WITH FREE WILL
AND CHAIN THEM DOWN
PREVENTING THEIR DESIRES TO SPILL
KILL THEIR DREAMS
BY TELLING THEM THEY’RE WRONG
DISRESPECT THEM
MAKE THEM FEEL WEAK AND NOT STRONG
WIPE AWAY THEIR SMILE
SMOTHER THE LIGHT IN THEIR SOUL
TEAR THEM APART
UNTIL THEY NO LONGER FEEL WHOLE
BREAK THEIR SPIRIT
SO ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS CRY
SURROUND THEM IN DARKNESS
CAUSING THEM TO COWER INSIDE
TRAP THEM IN THEMSELVES
IN THE BOUNDS OF SOCIAL ROLES
STEAL THEIR AMBITION
SO THAT THEY NO LONGER HAVE GOALS
JUDGE THEM
MAKE THEM DOUBT THEIR WORTH
MAKE THEM FEEL USELESS
WISHING THEY WERE NEVER BIRTHED
THEY WERE ONCE HAPPY, LIVELY, AND FULL
BUT BECAUSE OF DEPRESSION,
ALL THEY FEEL IS DULL
