Reciprocity.

My finger enter

Between my ribs

Searching for the pulsing, beating, living, throbbing

Heart keeping me conscious.

Now it is yours.

Yet in my hands I hold another

One I do not recognize.

Empty gaps in our chests

Yet we are alive,

Because you have given me your heart

And I have given you mine.
