Reckless
Sleeping soundly on train tracks,
Drunkenly leaning over the side of her balcony,
Crossing the street with her eyes closed,
And ignoring all the warning signs.
That’s how she chooses to live.
Reckless.
Hopeful in fate’s mercy,
She lives on the wild side
And sleeps with death,
Leaving before he wakes up,
Because like every other man he’ll never be able to keep her.
Except he’s the only man she ever daydreams about,
Other men can’t play along.
Can’t play her little game of chaos.
Her body means nothing to her, because it keeps her from her paramore.
But every night she thinks herself into his home,
And with every dark, macabre thought she hopes to ease her soul into his arms.
