reclined.
we tip toed to our past one day
in hopes that we might find
all the good that once was great
the memories so divine.
we stirred up many former joys
we read between the lines
and soon enough we were destroyed
the same as our first demise.
we just wanted to go back in time
cross t’s and dot our i’s.
we yearned for days of better us
and thought they were behind.
our memories blocked out the pain
the future we declined.
decided to move backwards
and now we’re stuck reclined.
