Reclusive Years

Pop! punch, kick, man!

All that power come from yo' han'.

To increase my agony,

And decrease my hope,

To overflow my inequity-

Until it is impossible to cope.

You never did take me to that learnin' place,

You just knock up the counter,

And tell me "get out my face!"

At times I thought,

You didn't even care.

Your actions-

No mom will ever compare.

Now I have grown up,

A bit wiser than before.

For every ounce of hate you had towards me,

I love my kids 10x more.

Although you beat me,

From the time I began to crawl,

I learnt to forgive,

But take a lesson from it all.

Cherish your child,

As if they were a golden dime.

Because years fly by,

Along with time.
