reconnection on a sunny day

Trees sway and clouds glide. You whisper sweet words, sayings of love and peace. The sun shines, birds sing, cool breeze kisses my hair. And I feel none of it as I stare emptily, the light does not reach my face, I cannot hear the bright-feathered songs I cannot forget how you betrayed me. I have been hollow for some time, filled only by night, which will know no dawn. yet... I shiver at the sound of your voice and know that I can still, that I am still capable of, that I feel. a cool breeze kisses my face birds chirp the sun beats down sayings of love and peace whisper from my mouth into your eyes the trees sway and glide, sway and glide
