Recovery

She carries this burden; a weight

For all those times she stayed away

Caught up in the game; With no escape

Pray to God to just let her wake

Open her eyes to see

That you are her seed

She brought you here; but why

To watch her shoot up and die

To place you in a room

Where her highs were consumed

Arms all bruised

Why does she use

Day after day, she rots away

Heart decayed

She needs a change

So she stood tall

Fall after fall

Took her life back

So you would never lack

Her love, anymore

She got up off that floor

She’s here to stay

Every single day

From here on out

So please never doubt

Her love is unbelievably true

So never forget that her heart beats for you.

After years of struggling with addiction and losing myself to a deteriorating, chaotic lifestyle; I finally found recovery. My young daughter suffered from my physical and emotional absence. Recovery is a huge part of my life that I am forever grateful for. I have been given the chance to be a mother again and have another shot at a great life. I could not live without recovery!
