Recovery

I've changed a lot from my old ways
I hope for big and brighter days
Slow intakes of breath
And no desires of death
Where I can awake to a life worth living
starting with love and always forgiving
isolation is out of the question
there is no room for self-oppression
to conquer this crippling depression
a new era of progression
adventure and life lie ahead
self-hatred left for dead
love now embedded
and good thoughts in my head
the road to recovery
will not be easy
But through new discoveries
lies the life I'll want to lead
