Recycled Hurt

How might one describe the rain? How it patters, how it falls? Emotion is grasped in fleeting droplets Feeling is washed by recycled water Self is contained, self is released How might you describe the rain? How it cleanses, how it sticks? Reminders are whispered in drizzling bouts Past hurts echoed in recurring moisture You are containing what you should release How might I describe the rain? How it hurts, how it stabs? Traumas are st-stuttered like skipping discs Replayed downpours soak the earth I am contained by what I don’t release
