RED

Love is the shaggy auburn dog

sleeping on my velvet couch of ruby

hue.

Locks like carrots braided

down

my back are the awe of the setting sun.

red lips, red blood

running

through my veins like Scarlett

through the fog back to Tara

feverent. Alive.

And the cardinals loved so by my grandmother are the Spirit

of Inspiration.
