Red Leather Traveller

His mouth tastes like blood and cigarettes Chewing on the inside of his mouth for fun God help this man, he's at his last end Accustomed to the night and frightened of the sun Kick a pebble into the street And it turns into a boulder He's got frayed shoes on his feet Makes his toes that much colder But nothing will ever get him down He's a fighter, a winner He paints the town Red then drinks the paint thinner So he'll never be dulled He's an original outcast Perfectly fine with being obscure He doesn't have past, He looks towards the future. He walks by himself Even surrounded by friends Life is just another book on the shelf: Entertaining until it ends.
