Red Lights

I whisper,
Knowing that you won't hear me, but hoping that you will
"I need you"

I reek of regrets
I've adapted this scent that no one can mistake
I take what I can get but nothing seems to lessen the ache
You're too far away
I didn't know when I let you go that you weren't coming back
Please come back

I've fallen so far
Further than the depth I keep my secrets in
Now only you can find me
Please try

"I love you"
So strong the words aren't even words
They are monuments in the center where my heart meets my soul
They are swords barred inside the core of my memory where I will never forget them
They are the only things that make me feel human
Or something a bit closer to it

"I'm sorry"
I am my mother's failure and my father's mistake
I was never good enough for myself but I'm hoping I'd be good enough for you
Please don't turn your face after you look at me
I'm only as ugly as my flaws

I don't want to scare you, but I need you to know
my broken pieces will cut you when we touch
Your lips will bleed when I kiss you
And I'll notice while you try to hide the pain
But, I'd be too selfish to stop so...
If you decide to love me back
It's going to hurt
But, I hope you love me anyway.
