The Red Red Rose

A rose is an interesting flower

Red roses are thought to show love

Yet, they can also be a symbol of sacrifice

They say a rose will strive in rain

But I say it will survive anywhere

With a little love and caring

It will bloom with an unknown elegance

That red red rose is coming in the spring

It strives in the rain and becomes a beauty

It becomes the light in the drifting snow

And the only color in a storm of silver clouds

So what I say to you now

Is be that red red rose,

Not the one leaving with a wilting petal

And not the one with a dying reflection in the puddle

But be that rose that is the only hope

Be the color in the darkness

Because people are waiting for spring to come

People are waiting for color to come

Be that red red rose

The one that buds before the others

To sacrifice what it knows and to be the example
