Red Stained Glass

Glass.

At times smooth, beautiful, fragile.

A sculpture, a beautiful trinket to please the eye.

Other times broken, shattered, useless.

A broken mirror, a shattered window.

You can try to put it back together,

But it only cuts you.

You won't feel it at first,

but then

you will look down

and see the red stained glass.

This poem truly captures not only everything looking good on the surface, but a reflection of self image solely being defined by abusers, and if you aren't careful, you'll be broken to pieces for not serving them the way they require, just like glass. Great poem. Keep up the work! Don't give up!
