Redemption

I looked in the mirror and did not see myself

For my world had once been on a shelf

This shelf had come crumbling down

There was nothing I could do but frown

My eyes that had once been an ocean blue

Were now the color of the coffee that would brew

My heart and head hurt like never before

I could tell this was a lesson that would make me hit the floor

The little things no longer made me excited to be alive

All I could do was look around and cry

It took months and months to build myself back up

Eventually I was just as enthusiastic as a young pup

The world is not fair and will make you feel small

Don’t let it discourage you, you can break down that wall
